Finally in Phoenix/ Dropping Off Our Last Load in Tractor #70848

The manager of the Flying J in Albuquerque gave us a free breakfast to compensate for the difficulty we went through over the occupied parking space that we paid for.
Everything went alright today, as we drove through the remainder of New Mexico and the mountainous parts of Arizona. The puppies stepped into lots of thorns again, as we were paused for a potty break. Stephanie & I spent 15 minutes pulling the wretched needles from our poor girls’ paws.
It was nighttime when we delivered our load to the growing outdoorsy store distribution center in Casa Grande, Arizona. Some of the property was difficult to navigate in the pitch blackness. We dropped off the load that originated near Saint Louis. I chose to leave with the poorest trailer on the property, as we would be immediately taking it to the Schneider facilities in Phoenix. They might choose to retire the rickety old box.
Within 4 miles of the Schneider OC, we encountered the awful stench of the landfill. It was awful & was still pretty bad when we got to the yard. Stephanie has a headache because of it. We marveled at how many government buildings were in the immediate vicinity of the putrid acreage.
Tomorrow will be a meaningful day. We will be completely cleaning out the tractor that we are currently in. Most of what we kept in the truck has been left in our storage unit in Missouri. We wonder how much of it we really didn’t need. At 2pm, the maintenance crew will inspect our truck to see how well we maintained it & to determine if we will need to be responsible for any repairs. This is the last night we will sleep in this truck.
On Wednesday, we will sign lots of papers & take possession of a brand-new Kenworth T680. We are really excited.
