NOT SO BAD

KENT, Washington

If they're not a national chain motel, we usually say "no thanks". My budget & necessity prompted me to go ahead and give this one a try. Surprise! It's awesome! My previous co-driver stayed here almost a year ago, while I adventured in downtown Seattle. He said the accommodations & cleanliness were perfectly acceptable, but I wasn't convinced (knowing his low standards). The room I got appears to be a small two-bedroom apartment, with a full kitchen. Victor insisted on not taking turns in the room - he's got similar distance requirements as I do. (Which I really appreciate). He figured he'd be just as happy to stay in the truck. But, at the time, we didn't know that this "room" has two separate bedrooms. He might change his mind later tonight. His cousin came down from the neighboring town of Renton to have a meal with him. I'm really happy that Victor is seizing every opportunity to enjoy life out here on the road. One of the benefits of this job is being able to visit family that you otherwise wouldn't be able to see. While I do have family relatively nearby, I'm just in the mood to be alone today. Every once in a while, every person needs to slow down & not do so much. This is my day.
