Texas wilderness

After a day off near the California coast, we are back on the job. We are moving a load as fast as we can to Florida. I misread my truckstop guidebook earlier this evening. This resulted in us having to do driver swap at a picnic area along I-10, in the middle of Texas wilderness. I had 17 minutes remaining on my DOT clock when I stopped. There was a truckstop 25 miles up the road, but getting there on my shift would result on an un-concealable violation. These electronic logs cannot be fudged. Switch out legally takes about 15 to 20 minutes. We inspect the truck for flats and any other safety issues during this time. All was in good working order.
I listened to the GOP debates this evening. My favorite candidate was allowed to speak, and when he did, he really made an impression. Current polls show that he won tonight's debate. He is a modern Thomas Jefferson, in my opinion. Can you guess which one I'm talking about? I was a fan of his before he was this popular.
