Tight Streets in Massachusetts

I was up earlier than usual to claim my free Holiday Inn breakfast. It was a first for me - to sit across from a man wearing a kilt. (I didn't want to know if he was going regimental. Ha ha)
My 70 hour clock was reset to full capacity at around 10 this morning (Monday), and I was anxious to get rolling. As usual, my co-driver was already in the truck, waiting. He had the new work assignment written down already.
After getting an empty from the previous day's customer, I drove to Lawrence, Massachusetts - a significant city on the Northeast side of the state. As I got into town, the streets got narrower and more congested. I had to abort a right turn because there was no way I could clear all of the obstacles, even though I had consumed the entire intersection with a massive buttonhook maneuver. I continued forward, with only inches between my trailer and parked cars. Within the same block, I had to stick my head out of the window to see if I was snagging low-hanging power lines. After a few tight turns, I rejoined my original route and arrived at my shippers building without any further excitement. After I settled into my parallel parking situation, I went exploring. My shipper needed another 3 hours to complete preparation of my freight - popcorn. They evenually loaded me to capacity with 4,500 lbs of that good stuff, and gave me a big bag for munching on down the road. Getting out of Lawrence went much more smotthly than getting in. I began the journey to Illinois, and handed over the controls to my cco-driver in Milton, Pennsylvania.
