Ferocious Winter Driving in the Northeast

Some of my other trucker friends would have chosen to stay in bed today, but I like to brave the elements until the powers that be close the roadways. We started our morning in Dupont Pennsylvania. After a couple of hundred miles of wintry travel, we delivered our load to distribution center in Windsor Connecticut. Stephanie was impressed that we were pretty close to my predicted schedule.
Under an empty trailer, our path to the next customer took us through New York City and over the George Washington Bridge. Freezing rain began to fall shortly before we got to the New York State line. Traffic was much lighter than usual, thankfully. There weren’t too many idiotic drivers out today. We picked up our load next to a prison in Kearny New Jersey. It was raining. The dogs didn’t mind being outside for a shorter time than usual.
We saw several accidents today, but none of them were very serious. I took special care to drive safely, as I thought about how important everyone around me is.
We are spending the night in Pennsylvania. I forgot the name of this town. Getting a parking space was a definite struggle. We had soup and hamburger for dinner, The former half was made here in the truck.
