Wet Camping Trip During TAH

"TAH" stands for "time at home". This past weekend, we took the three boys to a nationally recognized campground franchise on the northwest side of Springfield Missouri.
Although we knew about the heavy rain that was forecasted, we set up a tent camp anyway. We had a really good time & dinner was delicious.
The heavy rain started pouring around midnight. Around 3am, Stephanie & I decided to evacuate the largest tent to sleep the rest of the night in the semi truck. The rain fly had lost its waterproof properties & we were getting really wet! My youngest son was lucky to have stayed dry on the other side of the tent; he slept soundly.
My older two boys had their own tents. They were fine, but chose to relocate to the vehicles when we did.
When morning came, it was still raining hard. We transported our food & cooking supplies to a covered pavilion. All of us participated in the breakfast preparation. It was nice to have modern electricity & plumbing on that slab of concrete.
The rain didn't let up. All of us agreed that it would be a good idea to rent a cabin, there on the property for the following night. Taking down our current camp was an epic adventure. I was so thankful to have a rain poncho.
