Jenks Oklahoma to Pueblo Colorado

There wasn't much freight coming out of southeastern Oklahoma today. We settled for a load to Jenks, Oklahoma that required us to sit for a portion of a day. We dead headed two hours north and spent the night at a brand new Love's truck stop in Okmulgee, Oklahoma. While we were there I swallowed my pride and asked a local how to pronounce it. It is pronounced with a soft "g". If you would like to hear how it is pronounced, check out my YouTube channel.
My 9 year old son Forest, usually posts impromptu videos to that channel, and has allowed me to add videos to that list. I am going to start making videos that will hopefully give them some fatherly wisdom.
I felt extra motivated Friday morning and showed up to our customer in Jenks Oklahoma an hour early. It was a delightful surprise that our load was ready to go.
It wasn't long after embarking on our trip that we got into the plain windswept parts of Oklahoma. You can look at it on a map, but you have to drive on it to experience the vast openness.
We got into Colorado just after sunset. As we were trying to make a left turn in Springfield Colorado into 160, a police came rushing over to reroute is. There was a fatal accident between a semi and a car. We had to take almost a 2 mile detour to get back on course.
As my DOT hours were expiring, I pulled into a truck friendly, well known retailer to park for the night. We were extremely grateful for the great cell phone signal. Stephanie made me a ham sandwich and we watched an episode of Breaking Bad before bed.
Promising ourselves to cook in the truck this evening, we allowed ourselves to have a hot breakfast this morning, at Village Inn. My Belgian waffle was delicious. We did have to make a small grocery trip in our favorite retailer before departing.
Delivery went very smoothly in Pueblo and the temperature was comfortable at 54 degrees. We are currently heading up interstate 25 to commerce City to pick up our loaded trailer.
