34 Hour Restart in Seattle

Written by Stephanie

We parked the truck in Sumner at the Schneider drop yard around 12:30 on Tuesday. I worked quickly to get our bag packed while he finished up a few work related tasks.
As we were departing the truck, the driver next to us came over, and asked for some help with his trailer. Steven lent him the tool he needed and helped the best way he could. Before long, we were able to start our adventure.
We started off walking to a Valero gas station for a quick bathroom break. From there, we took Uber to the Auburn Station. The original plan was to take the train, but realized after buying the tickets that it didn't come for 3 hours!!!! So the next option was the bus to Seattle. On our route there was one bus transfer required, but we decided to walk the rest of the way.
I knew being in a big city there would be some homeless people, but the amount was beyond what I was thinking. There were so many tents lined across the waterfront areas and signs propped up asking for help. It was really sad to see....Makes you appreciate what you do have, more than ever.
We arrived at the hotel, got checked in, and headed upstairs. Our room was on the 9th floor and the view was great. We were right across from the Seattle Seahawks Stadium, Seattle Mariners Stadium, and right across from the water.
Steven unpacked the clothes and stretched out for a bit.
It was around 4, when we decided to head downstairs to catch the courtesy shuttle. The shuttle took us to our destination in Westlake.
There we ate at The Saigon(Vietnamese), shopped at Old Navy(swimming trucks for him), and Starbucks while waiting for the shuttle to pick us up.
Upon arriving back at the hotel, we got changed, and headed for the pool. The pool and hot tub were on the 9th floor(rooftop)of the hotel. It was so nice, relaxing, and beautiful up there.
Eventually, we made it back to the room, and got cleaned up before venturing to the hotel restaurant. We weren't too terribly hungry, so each enjoyed a bowl of soup, and a beer.
It was a pretty relaxing day and very much needed.
Our Wednesday morning started off with a trip to the hot tub and pool. It was so nice to be able to ease into the day.
We got cleaned up wandered down to the restaurant to grab breakfast.
We also took the time to use the hotel computers and printer to take care of various things. Then we grabbed our belongings and checked out.
We then boarded the shuttle to the ferry terminal for our trip to Bremerton. It was my first time on a ferry and was quite enjoyable.
When we arrived, we walked around the Marina, and took a tour of the Navy Museum. I then put in an Uber request  to go over to a friends house. It had been nine years since I had seen her and her family. The few hours spent together were great.
-So glad that I have such an amazing boyfriend who makes great things happen for me ❤️
Arrived back at the ferry terminal and quickly boarded. Then stopped for a bite to eat at the Seattle terminal. We then made our way to the bus that took us to Sumner. When we arrived we called Uber to take us to the truck. Our poor Uber lady was having difficulties with her phone and had Steven giving her directions from his phone. She was a nice lady and was very pleasant when we asked to make a quick bathroom stop on the way.
I really did enjoy the time in Seattle, the hotel, and visiting friends....
But I was really glad to be back in my own bed and back where I call home.
