I spent the weekend in Carlisle.
During my time there, I got routine maintenance done on my tractor, including its quarterly inspection.

For breakfast, I walked the mile to this fantastic diner, on the other side of Highway 11.

It wasn't until I was looking at the area on satellite that I noticed that the Appalachian Trail meanders very closely to the OC.

I set out for a hike, walking along these tracks for about a quarter-mile – where the trail intersected.

It boggles my mind that I was not aware of this trail until now – 12 years after becoming a "pumpkin driver".

It's wonderful to find new, exciting things in the areas that I frequent.

Here's that pedestrian bridge over highway 11.

Portions of the trail require hikers to walk alongside the road.

These white marks indicate where the trail is, helping to reassure hikers that they are still on course.

I eventually turned around and hiked back to the railroad tracks. The trail continued on the other side.

I'm anxious to go for another hike the next time I'm in town.
