RESTART = TIME FOR TRUCK MAINTENANCE

Council Bluffs Iowa
After delivering my load to a home-improvement store warehouse in Shelby Iowa, I drove to this dealership - in Council Bluffs. I would be starting my 34 hour reset. My 70-hour clock was down to a single hour. I had run hard since leaving home.
My maintenance vendor relayed my truck-work needs to this dealership. I arrived an hour before my stated ETA. They would be changing my oil and taking care of a few other items. As my truck odometer is very close to rolling 100,000 miles, I inquired about what various other things should be done in order to maintain my warranty status. Looks like I am doing everything right.
I spent the following several hours in the drivers lounge. Without proper change for the vending machines, I decided to take a 3/4 mile walk to Burger King. I had to climb into my truck to dig out the heavy winter coat. The temperature had dropped significantly and the wind was fierce! My secondary motivation for leaving the drivers lounge was to get away from some really smelly guys. Take a shower!
At 1am, the mechanic assigned to my truck came in to suggest that I get a motel - the work had become more extensive than anticipated. The warranty work on my DEF system that the shop in Springfield Missouri allegedly performed – was faulty or not performed at all. This has been an agonizing pattern. He drove me to the Days Inn. I checked into room 303 & promptly went to bed.
My maintenance vendor called me at 8:30 this morning. My truck was reportedly ready to roll. Since I wasn't going anywhere today, I checked out as late as possible: 11am. I choose to walk  to Freightliner, although I was offered a ride. When I arrived, the advisor discovered that two of the important items I had requested were not addressed. They are taking care of them now.
