HOME AFTER 9 DAYS OUT

The opportunity of getting home more frequently was one of the things that inspired me to jump into the owner-operater lifestyle.
As written in my previous blog chapter, my load was ready to roll a day early - this meant that I got to come home earlier than announced. Regina & I got to celebrate our 18th wedding anniversary on the actual day of our anniversary. Wow!  We usually have to celebrate holidays, birthdays and other special days whenever we can - without it being on the actual day. We have learned to be very flexible.
My boys were maximumly excited to see me as I arrived. They didn't waste any time climbing into the truck. I unloaded my laundry & luggage at my house, then we drove to my usual parking location. Regina drove behind us.
Arriving home again, my first task is always getting a shower. Even if I took a shower the morning prior to arriving home, I still have to scrub the remaining reminders of the road from my skin. This is a habit that mostly originated from my team-driving days.
