TANDEMS WAY BACK

Sunday went fairly smoothly. I dropped off my loaded trailer at a customer's yard in Warren, Ohio. They were closed; no one was around. Their written instructions were to put my bills in the nose-box & drop the trailer in a designated spot. Easy enough.
It's my policy to have a load assigned to myself way before I deliver a load to a customer to avoid figuring things out while on their property. As with most things, my policies have exceptions. I was, however, able to plan two assignments within half an hour. I was happy to be able to start off with a relay load, so I wouldn't have to bother looking for an elusive empty trailer.
I bobtailed 64 miles to the old Schneider OC in Seville, Ohio. It only serves as a drop lot now. The buildings are inaccessible to the drivers. Two Securitas guards man the entrance gate. I was glad to find my assigned relay trailer on the property; this is in contrast to two recent sour experiences during the prior few days.
My trailer was heavy. I drove over to the Pilot Travel Center to have it weighed. It was a good thing I did. The trailer axles were considerably overweight. I slid the tandems way back to get the weight distribution into compliance with the law.
I drove to within an hour's drive of my customer & concluded my workday at an outwardly dodgy truckstop near Warren, Ohio. The inside facilities were surprisingly well-maintained & clean.
