AGAIN ON SATURDAY
I drove 49 empty miles, unpaid, to Birmingham, Alabama. My assignment was to drop off my empty trailer and pick up a relay. The problem was, my relay wasn't there! I waited around for a couple of hours, figuring that the other driver suffered a minor delay. I called my ICR (Independent Contractor Representative). He did some investigating and discovered that my load had been dropped almost 300 miles from where I was. He was as baffled as I was at the failure of communication. He provided me some options for my next course of action. I chose to let him remove that load and the following load from my itinerary. So, from scratch, I went on the load board and chose a different assignment for myself. Everything went well from that point forward. It is Sunday morning, and I am just about to resume my trip to Warren, Ohio.
