STRANGE PEOPLE WE ENCOUNTER

Yesterday, while I was delivering a load to Dollar General in Ardmore, Oklahoma, a fellow driver from a competing company decided to strike up a one-sided conversation (college lecture) with me - all while we were at the guard shack, making our initial check-in. A short conversation in a busy environment is fine, as long as you aren't holding anyone up; but he wanted to tell me all about his ancestry, his religion, about the Civil War, and about modern vs. ancient sewage control systems. I said about 5 words during his entire rambling speech. If time & inclination would have allowed, I would have challenged him on a few things he said about the Bible. Other drivers looked on, with "OMG" expressions on their faces. The wordy driver eventually left as my gaze was redirected to the guard, who was gathering my delivery information. Ahhh...the people we meet.
