Our truck got its overdue pm during our down-time. The Fontana shop did an impressive job replacing the bumper & repairing the power steering components, among other things.
Mr. H insisted upon staying at the OC. I took the shuttle to the Best Western, by the Ontario airport. The driver nearly had a serious wreck along the way. My seatbelt held me in-place. It was a scary moment. My fellow passenger nearly went flying. Seatbelts truly do have a purpose.
Right after gaining access to my room, I turned on the TV. A tornado was forming in the Oklahoma City metro area - live on CNN. It was strange. to recognize that the world was witnessing the devastation of many lives & property in real-time. My attention remained on the unfolding events for most of the afternoon & evening. I followed police scanner traffic & called my folks to check on their status. My family was taking shelter below ground, once again, as yet more tornadoes bore down on their town of Shawnee, Oklahoma - which had taken a hard hit from twisters just the prior afternoon. My dad, mom, brother, grandmother, aunt & uncle emerged unharmed. Some of them were detectably frightened, as can be expected.
Tuesday morning, I checked out of my room. Two of my cousins came to have breakfast with me; then they took me back to the Schneider yard. Jennifer was a much better driver than the motel shuttle driver was. The visit between Daniel, Jennifer & I was a relatively short one, but it was fun. All three of us have fast-paced lives.
My co-driver called & texted me repeatedly as the noon hour drew closer. We had a work assignment, and he didn't want to be late. The man is as motivated as I am, for which I am thankful.
