Somewhere on a lonely stretch in Texas
It was 24 hours ago that we were in Fontana, at the OC. I was just stopping by to fuel the rig, get a shower & hand over the controls to my co-driver. (Thursday night/ Friday morning). I made my usual ping on Facebook about where I was. My cousin, EG, called me right as I was about to get a key for a shower room. He had been watching my every check-in that day. He talked me into delaying my watery ritual so that we could visit for a little while. He was just starting his midnight lunch break from his job. We met across the street, at the Fontana truckstop. He bought me coffee & we visited for half an hour in his luxurious SUV. Marriage was fitting him well. He & C were married about 7 weeks ago. Remember how I got to attend his wedding? Although short, the visit was a good one. Our opportunities to get together are highly unpredictable, so we have to always be ready to seize the moment.
