My partner & I ran that truck as hard as we possibly could, this past week. Our dispatchers gave us loads leading to my requested vacation destination: Fontana, California. We delivered our load of cigarettes to a warehouse in San Bernardino yesterday morning, then we drove to the Fontana Schneider yard to begin our time off.
My cousin, Evan, will be getting married on Saturday. This is why I asked to spend my first week of vacation in Southern California. I will only be taking 3 days of my allowed 5-day (& paid) vacation. My supervisors didn't hesitate at my proposal, and my co-driver was glad that I didn't leave him to fend for himself for a full week or two.
I rented a small car yesterday. Enterprise gave me a genuinely small car! It's a red Ford Fiesta. It has been so nice to get around to where I want, when I want to. Much of yesterday was spent at the Ontario Mills Mall.
Uncle Roger & Aunt Julie are hosting me at their house this weekend.
