QUICK VISIT IN SPRINGFIELD

Springfield, Missouri
Monday evening

Hunter & Forest looked right at me, but didn't recognize their own daddy. After standing there for a few more seconds, Hunter burst out into "DAD!", followed by his 5 year-old brother, Forest. We hugged right there in the aisle of the truckstop convenience store. Mama (Regina) got some sugar too. I told her to keep news of my stop through town a secret so that I could surprise the boys. They were surprised indeed. My primary purpose for stopping through town was to get a few things that I had forgotten to bring with me on the road, including a new fuel card - which will become active next Monday. The visit lasted only 10 minutes, as the only place available to park the rig was on a fuel island. Everyone is accustomed to my brief visits. The kids don't know any differently.
