BACK IN THE GRAY TRUCK

Monday morning - November 5,2012 We swapped trucks at the Gary OC at daybreak today. The mechanics were finished with their work on our truck - repairs from deer damage; routine engine maintenance; new tires; and the installation of the ambient temperature sensor. We had to restart the truck every 4 minutes to keep the lights on so we could see to put our things away. This was exactly one of my concerns.
After everything was swapped over, we rewarded ourselves with a tasty breakfast at the OC cafe. I had biscuits & gravy, bacon and grits. Then, I went back to bed. Victor hooked onto our assigned trailer, after extensive negations with the OC staff - about taking the kingpin lock off. This must be a high-value load.
We are 22 miles from our drop point, in the St Louis area. That's where I'll take over. It's slightly cold & rainy. Perfectly seasonable weather.
