Wednesday night – end of work shift
Today was spent exclusively on Interstate 5, from southern Oregon to central California.
We are hauling a heavy load, so some of the mountain grades were challenging. On some hills, I grunted along at 20 mph, then let my jake brake roar going down the other side.
During one of my rest stops, I got the truck washed. It was prepaid by my company. A clean truck is good for morale.
I've been teaming with my new partner, Victor, for a full month now. All is working out well.
We are heading to San Diego. I'm going to bed now, and will be waking up close to the Mexican border.
