BAFFLING SUNDAY

Woodhaven, Michigan. Cloudy sunset.

You would think that our company would know when their customer would be open & when they wouldn't be - especially for one as important as this. But, errors will happen & we know what layover pay is all about. We had to return to the "pumpkin patch" after an unsuccessful delivery to a closed customer this morning. They will supposedly be open later this evening to receive their freight. Can't tell you who just yet. Security policy. So, Victor & I have been taking turns attending the truck today. There's a full-service truckstop neighboring this Schneider operating point. I enjoyed a full IHOP breakfast at 1pm today. Victor got back from taking a shower a little while ago. He said the water pressure was way too high. At least we know he got all the soap off!

During my recent phone call with my wife, I could hear our four-year-old son crying in the background. He had been gotten into some trouble for wasting food. I had him get on the phone with me so we could have a talk. It didn't take too long to calm him down & set a course to better decisions. Being an over-the-phone dad is the best that I can currently do, but I am exploring options that will allow me to be home with my children more often. The trade-offs in life are becoming more & more pronounced. No matter what I decide to do, someone will applaud my decision & someone else will disapprove. There comes a time when we all have to make hard decisions.

Although many of us are still wearing short sleeves, fall is arriving. The leaves on the trees are beginning to become colorful. This might be my favorite season of the year.
