LAST FULL DAY IN NIXA

Monday night – in bed:

After I dictated the title of this posting, I was delighted to see that "Nixa" was properly spelled out. It's an unusual name, and no other state is home to such a town.

My intention was to clean & organize my storage unit today. Other activities overruled this chore.

After taking Hunter to school, Forest & I went for a 20 minute bike ride around the neighborhood. I strapped the dash cam to my helmet this time, which yielded a more enjoyable video experience.

At noon, it was Forest's turn to go to school. Preschool lasts three hours a day. During that time, Regina & I got a chore done, then went to Panera bread for lunch. I had French onion soup in a bread bowl.

At 3pm, I went alone to pick up Forest from school. He & I made a stop at a gas station before getting in line at Hunter's school. Forest got a Slurpee & I got 16oz of coffee. Hunter & James (his cousin) climbed into my 2003 Ford Explorer at 3:45. I had to negotiate school traffic at two different parts of the city to get him home.

I took my boys to the city park & talked with a friend on the phone while they played. That experience was short-Iived when I remembered that I had to get cooking ingredients for Regina, from the grocery store.

Regina made sweet potato pie this evening. It was our dessert, after Grandpa Bailey took us to Bud & Walts for supper. Our culinary experience was remarkable this evening.

I went to the big Boy Scout meeting tonight. It's always an uplifting experience to associate with similar-minded/valued men & see my son develop into an admirable person, with useful skills.

My new fuel card arrived in the mail today. In about a month, maybe two, Schneider will no longer be using Comdata as our fuel & expense conduit. It's just another card to me. I had no idea that our management was dissatisfied with our current provider. It must have been a big deal, considering the amount of logistics required to make such a significant change.

I'm scheduled to return to work at noon tomorrow (Tuesday). This has been a good time at home (TAH).
