Solo driving has its advantages, but it has a downside too: reduced productivity. I've been averaging 350 miles per day since I've been out. Hopefully things will improve.
I've completed my workday & am preparing to read my book. Everything went well in Tulsa this morning. It was good to get everything done before morning rush-hour began. The aggressive level of road construction road construction is its own hazard, though.

Someone tried to break into my trailer last night. It appears that the would-be thief had cut my padlock just as I was starting my Pre-trip inspection late last night, particularly as I was thumping my tires with a hammer. The truck had been shaking oddly, but I figured it was likely to be just the wind. My neighbor's empty trailer had a door standing wide-open, but I didn't give it much thought - since I've been known to open my own empty trailer doors to give the inside a good sweeping. Someone's shadow disappeared just after I rounded the corner. So what? Without being nosy, I noticed a pair of bolt cutters stashed inside the trailer, along side two load bars. It wasn't until my first restroom stop, in Roland, Oklahoma, that I noticed that my padlock was absent. It's my habit to walk around the truck after every break. This is known as TIV (trailer integrity verification). The plastic seal hadn't been broken, so that was good. There were recent broad rub marks on the dusty trailer door, indicating that the hoodlum had a fight with my padlock & was using worn cutters. I mentally reviewed everything & everyone I had seen just before starting my workday. Not much punched at me that seemed suspicious, except for a guy looking at me briefly. The shaking truck didn't register as odd this time, after ten years of false concerns over the wind. "It's just the wind." It's just something we become oblivious to, over time. I was lucky to have chosen to start my Pre-trip inspection when I did. However, it occurs to me that I might have been in some degree of physical danger, coming so close to encountering the thief. My hammer would have made a good weapon in an altercation, though.
