In compliance with federal law, I didn't drive the truck today. I had reached the 70 hour limit. My soon to be ex-partner chose to park the rig at the Flying J, which was a favorable decision.
This evening, I took a walk downtown. It was a little over a mile and a half to the famous corner, sung about by the Eagles. I snapped several pictures and said hello to several locals along the way. The last 10 minutes of my walk back to the truck stop was uncomfortable. The sun had just set & mosquitoes were attacking me ferociously.
It was nice to get a shower upon my return to the Flying J. Afterward, I enjoyed a delicious tilapia dinner at Denny's.
My partner decided to start his workday about an hour earlier than usual, which was fine with me. It's not quite midnight & we are well on our way eastward, toward Texas.
I told my wife that we might be in Nixa sometime on Saturday - where my partner & I will be parting ways. It's unknown yet whether I will stick around or continue on with a load. Naturally, Regina is hoping that I will get to spend a day and a half at home before embarking on my solo driving experience.
