CLEAR LAKE, IOWA

We are on a partial layover. Our delivery appointments have been scheduled widely apart, resulting in extensive amounts of free time. I chose to spend my usual work shift in the Best Western hotel, instead of wandering between the truck stop & the truck all afternoon. I'm sure my co-driver appreciated my absence. This expense will be reimbursable by my company. It has been nice to have privacy, a television, comfortable furniture, adjustable a/c controls, a clean restroom & good food to eat.

It is a little after midnight & I will be returning to the truck in just a few minutes. My co-driver will begin the last leg of our trip to Minnesota in about an hour, all while I drift to sleep in the truck's bunk.

My friend talked me into trying a new navigation & networking app for my iPhone. Waze is built around each of its members participating in map corrections & reporting various road hazards/ incidents during their daily commute or various trips. This program is really starting to gain popularity, therefore becoming more useful. I will probably report more about it, as I become more familiar with how it works.
