My entire day has been spent at our company's St. Louis terminal - as my co-driver had two appointments with the Schneider staff & our load assignment has us scheduled to pick up our next at 2am, Friday morning.
Free time is seldom wasted on me. I completed an online training course – a company requirement that had to be done by mid-August. I spent a significant amount of time sorting & deleting messages from my various email accounts. Conversations with my fellow drivers provided pleasant distraction from my self-imposed chores. One driver was very new to the world of trucking. We talked a while, and I gave him my phone number for him to call whenever he had questions or situations. Those first few months on the road are stressful.
About two hours of my evening was spent watching The Terminal, with Tom Hanks.
My dad called with news regarding my grandmother. Wires from her recently – implanted pacemaker had worked loose, so she will be going into surgery tomorrow.
