NIXA, MO
This was day number two, of my time at home. (TAH).
My phone woke me with severe thunderstorm warnings during the night, but the actual storm didn't affect my sleep.
I made a good breakfast for my boys & grandpa, before taking Hunter to school. As usual, I walked Hunter to his classroom, with Forest on my shoulders. He introduced me to two of his classmates who were sitting outside of the locked classroom door. His day was off to a good start.
Upon my return to the house, I didn't stop the engine. Regina got into the car and we made a trip to the courthouse, in Ozark. I was about a month late declaring my personal property for tax purposes, so I wanted to get that straightened out with the county assessor. Once again, Forest rode my shoulders wherever I went. I was nearly out of breath by the time I had climbed the flights of stairs to the third floor. Excellent exercise. We rode the elevator down when we left.
After my tax matters were settled, the three of us toured a couple of nearby antique stores/ flea markets. We always end up staying at least an hour, yet buying very little. Our four-year-old boy is generally pretty good about not touching too many things, so I rewarded him with three small toys.
My grandpa went for a haircut, this afternoon. He knew that both of my boys and I would probably be visiting our favorite barbers this afternoon, so he paid for our services in advance. Grandpa Bailey is such an awesome man.
I received a "push" notification on my phone, that a 6.3 magnitude earthquake and occurred near Chiapas, Mexico. Obviously, I thought of my Uncle David. I promptly sent him an email, and sent pictures of my notification to my dad and his brothers. I later got word that the earthquake occurred somewhere in the ocean, and Uncle David didn't even feel it.
Hunter had soccer practice today. he enjoyed himself and developed a little more skill.
Tomorrow is my last full day to be in Nixa. If the freight situation is at least average, we will be taking off at noon on Thursday.
Blog note: I have recently tried to use single letters to vaguely identify various people that I'm writing about - in an effort to protect anonymity and avoid offenses. There is only one blogger that pulls that off with grace. My attempts have yielded awkward results, so I am reverting to common writing methods - including real names and relationships. So, if I happen to unintentionally ruffle feathers again, just send me an email so I can make the necessary changes.
