My niece and nephew had their birthdays this past weekend. Sara turned 16; and Jacob turned 12. What luck to have the same birthdays.
Regina worked ferociously to prepare their cakes during the prior week and evening. It's a hobby that she's good at. Her works of art required a total of 9 cake boxes and numerous items related to the tasks. She admits that she took on more than she could comfortably handle. With the help of myself and her mom, she got them all done in the nick of time.
Sara had her own party at a tea room; obviously geared toward girls. The event was fancy, so everyone dressed accordingly.
Across town, Jacobs group met at an arcade featuring only games from the 1980's - hence the name: "1984". My boys and I were the first to arrive. We had a section of the arcade reserved for the birthday party. Most of the games were free to play. Forest and Hunter must have spent time at every single amusement device before the party started. Jacob & family arrived with pizzas. We had the customary eating, singing, gifts & cake. It was fun. Sara, her mom & others arrived at the arcade after their own party had concluded. We all had a blast.
