DALLAS DESTRUCTION

We spent the night at the Dallas OC. Upon arrival, I checked in with the shop to get some work done. They attempted a repair & replacement on the computer sensors, but didn't succeed. We are also overdue for this truck's first routine maintenance appointment, but they were booked for the next 3 days.
I eased into a parking spot for the night. My co-driver stayed inside the TV lounge while I slept in the truck.
Freight still isn't as plentiful as it was just a few weeks ago. I had to wait until late afternoon to pick up our load.
After I got out of bed, I took a tour of the Dallas yard. Carnage from last week's tornado was easy to find. Work crews continue to move debris and reinstall fences. I talked to the fuel desk manager about the events of last Wednesday. She told me that someone drove around the yard shouting warnings & knocking on doors to get all of the drivers possible to shelter. Our drivers huddled in the hallways and restrooms, not having enough time to get to the maintenance pits. The tornado came through the training yard, on a direct path to the buildings then diverted left, which was a very fortunate thing. Nobody was hurt, but a lot of property was damaged & destroyed in this event.
