PASSING THE TIME

I spent the entire afternoon in Palatine, Illinois. The local bowling alley had recently gone out of business. Bummer. I was wanting to knock over a few pins today. The neighboring indoor soccer facility was open, though. I enjoyed watching the athletes practice. After I had enough of that, I returned to my shipper's property. Except for a walk to Dunkin' Donuts, I spent the remainder of the day in their break room. My thick book helped to keep me occupied. The television was on, but I'm not much of a television–watching person. The dock workers came in from time to time. I made a friendly acquaintance with one of them, and he did what he could to speed up the loading of my trailer. When I went to the office to sign my paperwork, I was reprimanded for not wearing my reflective safety vest. The company known for their brown uniforms sure do make a big deal about being visible around their terminals. Safety first.I took off at 10pm, and drove til midnight. I handed over the controls in Remington, Indiana at the Pilot Travel Center. The Subway worker moved too slowly for my tolerance, so I settled for 2 corn dogs from the hot case. Yuck, I should have chosen something else.
