Satisfying First Day Off

Other than having me home, this was an average day for my boys. I took Hunter to school. Forest got to have me to himself for several hours. Regina enjoyed having me home too. Having me around to care for the boys allowed her to take extra naps, as she is wrestling with a cold. I picked up Hunter after school. He raced to the car, thrilled that it was me.
Since my wife and four-year-old son have colds, the likelihood is that I will catch it too. So, we went to the natural food store to buy supplements and colloidal silver spray in an attempt to keep me healthy. If I can just avoid sugar, exercise a little, and practice other commonsense measures, my scheme might work. If my efforts fail, spending time with my family will still have been worth it.
After our trip to the natural food store, we ate at a new barbecue restaurant. Then, my kids and wife convinced me to go to the dollar theater to watch Puss In Boots. It was a fun movie.
My partner agreed that we would return to work at noon, on Sunday. this time at home will be the day longer than usual.
I've got several things to do, and an appointment to be sure to attend, but my schedule isn't too hectic this time.
It rained nearly all day today. Most residents of the Ozarks didn't mind, since it has been so dry lately. We continue to marvel at how warm it is this January. I was just pointing out to my kids that there is usually a fair amount of snow on the ground, this time of year. Five years ago, the Ozarks was recovering from one of the worst ice storms in memorable history. Many residents didn't have power for about two weeks. I enjoyed the time of such stillness and family togetherness.
Speaking of power outages, you may be aware that the earth is experiencing significant solar storms this week. Space meteorologists have warned of potential satellite and cell phone communication disruptions. Under certain circumstances, significant solar storms can take down large sections of the power grid. It would be worth your while to evaluate your emergency readiness plans and supplies, during the next few days.
