This past Monday, my dad received a new pacemaker at the Oklahoma Heart Hospital. We were told that it would be a quick procedure, but we were all amazed that it truly turned out to be so fast. He was in and out within a matter of hours! My cousin asked about him just this morning. He halfway didn't believe me - that they could complete such a procedure without an overnight stay. Perhaps that would be so at most hospitals, but at the Oklahoma Heart Hospital, heart procedures is what they DO.
My mom and grandfather drove to Oklahoma City to be there for my dad, and brother. They spent about 4 days there. I talked to my mom this afternoon. They left Shawnee, Oklahoma this morning, and were just a few miles from Springfield, Missouri when I talked to her. My dad had to stay behind, in Shawnee for some unrelated doctor's appointments. My brother is staying behind as well.
