CHICAGO-LAND

I didn't do a smidgen of work today. My co-driver delivered our 21,000 lb load of Nintendo games to the UPS hub, outside of Chicago. We had to abide by various high-security procedures on this load; for example, I had to drive 250 miles nonstop from the shipper, and we had to send messages to our supervisors every time we stopped the truck, and again when we resumed our trip. Although I haven't had an attempted hijacking, I still remain vigilant.
With a huge crack in the windshield,  and both of us running low on our "8-day" hours, the powers that be (at Schneider) decided to schedule our truck for preventive / repair maintenance at 3pm.
It usually takes several days of advance notice to get truck maintenance at the Gary OC, but we sailed right in today. Either we did something right, or our supervisor called in a favor.
After writing and depositing a few postcards, the Best Western van shuttle showed up to take us to the motel. After nearly a week of hard driving, I was truly giddy once I got to my room. I reminded myself of Forest when he gets excited; he jumps up and down, letting the world know that he is thrilled!
I am watching the Tonight Show. One of my cousins attended the live taping this afternoon, so I am looking for her in the audience.
Hunter had a good time at Cub Scouts tonight. His den made Smore's around a backyard campfire tonight. He told me that his marshmallow caught fire, but it was extinguished before it was rendered inedible.
I want to wish CG a happy 30th birthday. Make it a good one!
