It was a tough time for us & Stephanies step-mom. We had an extremely limited amount of time to collect the sentimental items & clean up as much of the house as we could.
Janice is Stephanie's step mother. Her sisters were in town, helping. They were also on a time budget, so decisions had to be made quickly. It was really hard on Janice, having to rapidly decide upon what to keep; what could be donated or sold; and what should be thrown out.
Stephanie & I spent that night at her former in-laws house. They love her & still consider her to be family. I like them. We went out to dinner. Conversation was pleasant.
We drove back to Charlotte Friday morning. I did my annual recertification at the Schneider OC, then we returned the rental car to the airport. We rode in an Uber car back to the Schneider yard. Work resumed shortly thereafter.
