When I originally selected this load, I planned to have it delivered to Raymond New Hampshire before taking a 34 hour break. Shortly after the nicely playing load appeared on my itinerary, I realized that I would not have enough time to get it there before my 70 hour clock expired. Stephanie and I did some quick trip planning and improvising. It would stink to give a load up like this one.
With the remaining few hours left in our day, we skedaddled & parked the rig next to a well-known megastore in in Northern Virginia, just outside of the Washington DC area. Woodbridge Virginia would be our home for the next 34 hours. We were really thankful that the management allowed us to park where we did.
During our 34 hour restart, we ate well, slept late, and indulged in a movie at the theater. It was really good to take it easy.
This morning, we got up at 5:30. Although it was Saturday, we knew there would be plenty of traffic along I-95. We wanted to avoid as much of it as possible. I estimated that we would average 53 mph on our way up to New Hampshire.
Horrendous traffic slowed down our progress significantly, especially in Connecticut. When we arrived in our delivery customer, we had 33 minutes remaining on our DOT clock.
