In Jefferson City I arrived at the shipper 30 minutes before the pick up time. That is generally my policy. They sent us to the warehouse on the backside of the property. After the employee finished loading me he didn't know where to sent me to get my paperwork. It seemed a little strange to me. I went to the default location labeled: The shipping office.
It was a light load and therefore we didn't have to stop to scale it. Tuesday traffic flowed smoothly through St. Louis. I decided to end the day at a truck stop in Mount Vernon Illinois. For dinner we had take out from Denny's. We were in the mood to watch Netflix as we had our dinner.
On Wednesday, we had an uneventful drive to Nitro, West Virginia. We slept in the movie theater parking lot where we saw The Great Wall at 7:45pm. We had some time before the movie and walked over to Buffalo Wild Wings for dinner. It was a substantial walk, but we did not reach our step goal for the day.
On Thursday, we drove to a small town just North of Richmond, Virginia. We parked with 17 minutes remaining on the DOT clock. We did a little shopping at the local Walmart and ordered dominos pizza for dinner.
Forty five minutes after midnight we began our work day. I tried to drive around the building with no success as there was a gate. Backing out was a huge ordeal and left me frustrated. The rest of the day turned out decently. We delivered our load just a little after 3am. Our receiver assigned us an older trailer, but I remembered that our next customer requested a newer trailer. I said please and she acquiesced my request.
