After we started moving, we realized the recommended route was hilly and very slow. Interstate 68 thru Maryland is not a route you want to take if your load is heavy or you need to get anywhere quickly.
Because of this, we had to end our workday 100 miles sooner than originally planned.
Although there was a chance of no parking spots being available, we ended up checking out a popular yuck stop in Hurricane West Virginia. We lucked out and found a freshly vacated spot, close to the building. Stephanie heated up leftover hamburger helper for dinner.
It was lightly raining, but we got a little walking in as we roamed the neighborhood looking for dessert. We never did get to satisfy our sweet tooth. We just went back to the truck to brush our teeth and watch an episode of Breaking Bad before going to sleep. Needing to carefully manage our time, we limited our break to a strict 10 hours. We walked to McDonald's for a quick breakfast to go.
It was a pleasant drive to the distribution center where we dropped off a load of a chocolate drink and various apple products. A Schneider office happened to be on the property. While there we scanned paperwork, grabbed ice, got coffee, bagged free ice, and fueling.
All of the free goodies helped ease our frustration over the tea site time and the nasty 6.2 mpg we got.
