Left Home/ Locked Out in Knoxville TN

As planned, we got to work 10 hours after going off duty. It was a short time in Nixa, but it was good spending time with my boys.
Travel went well and uneventfully. We made really good time to our nighttime destination in Knoxville Tennessee. We chose to stop at the TA so we could get an inverter purchased and installed.
We talked to the mechanics how about replacing our current inverter. They said they could have it installed relatively quickly. So, we went into the store and bought a 2500 watt inverter. When we showed back up at the service counter, the mechanics informed us that they could not install our new inverter. They said it was because of liability concerns. We were shocked and troubled that they had misled us.
Returning to the truck, we discovered that I had left the keys in the ignition. Her keys were in her shoes, on the dashboard. We were locked out. I called my managed maintenance advisers. They sent a tow truck over. It didn't take long for them to arrive. Brian arrived in the big tow truck. Another fellow came in a pickup truck. They tried all of the spare keys they had before sliding they are various instruments into the door. After lots and lots of work, they had to admit defeat. Brian had me call the nearby Freightliner dealership to have them cut a key, based on the Vin number. The dealership clerk hesitated about doing the job since I was not able to provide proof of truck ownership. Overhearing this, Brian got on the phone; said a few words to the clerk; and got everything straightened out. We took an Uber ride over to the Freightliner dealership. Our driver seem to have navigational difficulties, but he was a nice enough fellow. Inside the dealership, the clerk immediately handed us a key and let us go on our way without being charged. The same Uber driver drove us back to our truck.
The lockout ordeal consumed a lot of time, so we decided to go across the street to eat at Waffle House instead of heating up soup for dinner.
We get out of bed in less than eight hours. It will be good to get rolling & complete this load. It's been a troublesome one.
