TOO MANY COPS IN COLORADO
I have interacted with law-enforcement in Colorado more than in any other state. These interactions have mostly been inconsequential weigh station inspections, but I had a most unfortunate conversation with a local cop yesterday. He pulled me over for speeding. I was ticketed for going 49 in a 40 mph zone. In my recollection, the speed limit was absurdly slow for the kind of road I was on. It frustrates me to know that I was mentally struggling to remember what the speed limit was as I passed the patrol cruiser. This was the first time ever in my life to be pulled over for speeding. Since the speeding fine isn't too onerous, I'll probably just pay it and move on with my life. But, if the location of this town wasn't so inconvenient, I'd probably go back and contest it in court. Here's a picture of the ticket. I have it flipped to the reverse side because I don't want the world seeing my personal information.
