THURSDAY DEPARTURE; POOR FREIGHT

Time at home was good, as usual. I had to get rolling Thursday morning. As I frequently do, I continued a load to Valliant Oklahoma. It was getting really foggy when I got there when I arrived.

   Freight choices were far less than optimal. Very few loads aligned with my schedule. Fewer loads paid very well. I had to punt with a load from Muskogee Oklahoma to Maquoketa Iowa. After all the miles were completed, my calculations show that I drove $.32 per mile less than usual. At least the load was light and my MPG's were good. It's Saturday morning, December 6. 

  My shipper, in Muskogee Oklahoma, didn't have my load ready the evening I arrived. So I dropped my empty trailer off & exited the property to accomplish my 10 hour break. When I re-arrived the following morning, the same guard was still there! He had worked a double shift and was getting ready to go home. I admired how alert he looked and how professionally he performed his duties.
