THROUGH THE SNOW AND BARELY HOME

My days have been maximumly busy & profitable lately.
Saturday was a challenging day, weatherwise. Eastern Oklahoma & western Missouri were treacherous for travel. The wintry roads contributed to several accidents I saw on my way to Kansas City.
My driver-side windshield wiper came off of its arm at the most inconvenient time, as snow came down & slush got sprayed by other vehicles. I temporarily fixed it with zip ties at the Missouri Welcome Center on I-44. At my first opportunity after that, I bought new, higher-quality wipers!
The snowy, slippery roads slowed me down significantly. I delivered my load successfully & began my 2.5 hour trek home. When I pulled into my driveway, my 70-hour clock was worn down to a deadly 17 minutes. Whew!
My time at home has been good. My baby is nearly 4 weeks old. He had noticeably grown during the 6 days I was gone. I held him a lot & did 95% of the diaper duty - to give Regina a break. I kept busy doing "dad things" with my other two boys, including showing up at their school for lunch. We went to Cub Scout meeting, where the leader gave a lesson about nutrition & the dangers of alcohol and drugs.
I have four loads planned so far. Oklahoma will be my primary playing field this week. I plan to take off at 9am.
It's a bitterly cold night. The meteorologists predict the temperature to fall to 9° here in Nixa Missouri. To prevent disaster, I might have to start my truck's engine & keep it running for a while. It's currently plugged into an electrical outlet to maintain batteries & to keep the engine minimally warm. I forgot whether or not I have fuel tank heaters. Thinking ahead, I fueled up before arriving home Saturday evening. I really want to prevent my diesel from turning into a gelatinous mess.
