TONS OF TEXAS

Saturday, October 4, 2014
Texas might be my favorite state.
I usually stop at this rest area/welcome center whenever I'm traveling south from Oklahoma.
Things were definitely greener than depicted on this satellite picture.
I always try to remember to wear a mask whenever I sweep out an empty trailer. There have been so many times that I've spent the following day or two coughing violently to clear my lungs of the concentrated dust.
It took a while to get an empty trailer yesterday, as one of my assigned search locations was locked up. The box planning team sent me to a highly secured yard in the roughest area of southeast Dallas. It blew my mind how much barbed wire, electric fencing, double gates and personnel this facility utilized to maintain security.
Although I was almost an hour late picking up my load, none of the staff made a gripe about it. I scaled soon thereafter. As you can see, my drive axle was overweight, but I successfully remedied it.
The Dallas skyline is always so beautiful.
I drove north about 45 minutes before parking my rig for the night. Anna Texas is always a very comfortable place to spend some time.
Pardon the image quality here. On a miscellaneous note, I saw this yesterday morning near Miami Oklahoma. A state trooper had just arrived. How embarrassing for the truck driver.
