Carmel Indiana There's something special about delivering loads to small businesses. Things are generally laid-back and the workers are friendly. Here, I was delivering some sort of radon absorbing material. My bill of lading said the load weighed 37,000 pounds, but after I scaled it, the true weight turned out to be less than 10,000 pounds. I got 8.5 miles per gallon on this load, coming from Massachusetts.
Speaking of small places, last night I had to take a parking spot at the TA that was a little short for a 70 foot tractor trailer combination. A light pole prevented me from backing in the same distance as my neighbors. I was a little concerned that someone would scrape the nose of my tractor during the night, but that didn't happen.
