OVERNIGHT IN CICERO

My parents successfully convinced me to delay my departure yesterday morning. They prepared a really good breakfast.
Around 9:30, I hoisted anchor and boogied toward Chicago. Traffic wasn't too bad. I arrived in the southwest Chicago neighborhood around 6:30. My customer's facility was easy to spot. They have a great big triangular sign. The two old guards were stereotypically grumpy for that area. The Asian man, with a thick accent, became almost distraught over having to repeat himself in order for me to understand his words.
The 60-year-old black guard required everything to be done specifically according to the rules.
My delivery assignment was to drop off my trailer before 11:59pm, Monday. The guards didn't get the memo that I was expected to arrive. They refused to allow me to drop off my trailer. But I was allowed to spend the night on the property. I would have to make my case to the office clerks in the morning.
This situation ruined my chance of doing my annual recertification at the company yard in Gary Indiana, Tuesday morning. My appointment was set for 7 o'clock.  However, I did become eligible for a whole bunch of detention pay.
This morning:  The office manager apologized for the miscommunication with their guards. He quickly signed my bills and directed me to the spots where I would leave my loaded trailer and pick up an empty trailer. Mission accomplished.
Departing at 7:30, traffic was getting nasty. Using Google maps, I was able to bypass the nastiest of traffic. I love living in the 21st-century!
I picked up my current load at the port of Indiana, in Portage. I zipped across Indiana and Ohio via the tollways. It's always best to spend a little toll money, in order to make better time and get far better fuel mileage then you would get on the paralleling US and state highways. I'm spending the night near the Pennsylvania border.
