SIDE OF I-44 CHANGING HER TIRE

NEAR SPRINGFIELD, MISSOURI– Sunday afternoon
My route from St. Louis to San Antonio brought me through home again. Regina was out and about picking up friends. As I was rolling through Strafford, she called me to tell me that she had a flat tire and didn't know what to do. I had her call the number on the back of our insurance card, since we were covered for roadside assistance. While our insurance company was figuring out who send over, I found Regina, parked behind her, and commenced to see of we had the necessary equipment & spare tire. Since we bought the used car nearly a year ago, we never had been curious enough to pull the rear floor compartment apart to look for the spare donut tire. We were lucky that it was there & nicely inflated. It's amazing how much of the car we had to pull apart to access the silly thing. Regina called our insurance agent to have the roadside service order canceled. I was well underway to getting it swapped out. Regina set up my emergency triangles while I worked. This event had a happy ending. She paid me with a kiss & made it home safely.
Oh, and did I mention that I had shredded a tire too? When I stopped to help my wife, I was already limping to a tire repair shop in Mount Vernon, Missouri. The causes of our respective tire explosions were completely unrelated.
