MEETING MARK

It's been a while since I've been to Portland, Oregon. My former co-driver and I were here about seven months ago. As an owner-operator, I finally had the chance to visit the West Coast again. 

   I had been wanting to meet a Facebook friend for quite a while, tonight we finally met in person. Mark M. is a former Schneider driver who still enjoys following news and stories of the industry. 

He picked me up right outside the OC gates. We went to his favorite barbecue restaurant and enjoyed a wonderful meal with fascinating conversation. 

  Returning to the Schneider yard, I let him sit in the driver seat of my tractor. We talked a while longer, until my interior lights extinguished themselves. (They automatically go out after the doors being have been open a while). I'm glad Mark and I finally got to meet. We hope to get together again before too much longer.
