I was awakened from a deep sleep early, early Tuesday morning. A sleepy driver hit my tractor tire with the edge of his trailer bumper as he was backing in next to me - leaving a half-inch deep gouge in the sidewall rubber. He was aware of his mistake & took full responsibility for the accident. 
His company will pay the costs of replacing my tire.
Having lost about a half inch of rubber, I will need a new tire in order to pass quarterly inspection - which is due right now.
