On Wednesday, I delivered to a neighborhood within the borough of Queens New York. When I selected the load, I was naturally nervous about it. Anything around New York City is challenging for any truck driver. I chose the load because it paid really well and I felt that I was up to the task. I went in with the mindset of maximum patience & professionalism. Everything went surprisingly well. Traffic was much lighter than expected going in, but heavier than anticipated leaving, even for the night before Thanksgiving. My 70 hour clock was wearing down to nothing. I chose to park the truck for my 34 hour restart at the first rest stop I encountered on the New Jersey Turnpike - Thomas A Edison service plaza, in Woodbridge, New Jersey.
