SLEEPING IN RURAL OKLAHOMA

Freedom, Oklahoma
I parked the truck near the intersection of US-64 & OK-50 last night, in a wide dirt section across the street from a sleepy local country store & restaurant. Although the sign read "Open", I figured the establishment was closed - until I spotted a person looking out the window at me. I walked across the highway to see what the status really was. The employees were just about to close up, but the ladies were happy to make a turkey sandwich for me anyway. It was delicious, as were the coconut cake & iced tea.
As nighttime took over, the moon & stars shone brightly in the dark country sky. The air was very comfortable, with barely a breeze.
