30 MINUTES WITH FAMILY

Two nights ago, I spent the night in Springfield, Missouri. It was almost 9 pm when I got there. My kids were getting ready for bed, so I didn't want to mention my whereabouts to Regina, at first. But I did. She promptly got the kids in the car and drove the 20 minutes to the north side of Springfield to visit me. I took a shower in the meantime. When they arrived, the kids leaped out of the car, wearing pajamas. We had joyous hugs and laughter at that late hour. It felt really good to hug and kiss my wife too. She seems to miss me as much as the kids do. I drove our new car around the neighborhood, then we all climbed into my truck.
It was a good morale boost. I've been home less than usual since I've been an owner-operator. I'm doing my best to earn good financial padding before the snowy months set in.
